School’s out for the summer! No more classes, homework, or tests. However, for some students, when school is out, that means no more guaranteed meals. When school is out for summer vacation, many children lose access to free and reduced meals they rely on during the school year. The Idaho Foodbank’s Picnic in the Park Program and the Boise School District's Summer Meal Program helps to fill this nutritional gap throughout the summer.
🍎 Picnic in the Park runs Monday-Friday, June 3 – August 9, 2019. Kids ages 1-18 years old can enjoy a free healthy meal and fun activities at various locations throughout the Boise Metro area. Adults may purchase a lunch for a small charge. The Idaho Foodbank partners with Literacy in the Park, Mobile Rec, and volunteers from the community to engage with the program participants to teach them the importance of a healthy meal, physical activity, and education. No meals served on July 4 in observance of the holiday.

🍎 The Boise School District's Summer Meal Program runs June 4-July 26. Some meal sites will end earlier on June 21. Be sure to check your location. Free breakfast, lunch & supper are served Monday-Friday for children ages 1-18 years old. No meals served on July 4-5 in observance of the holiday. (See site locations below)
